House District 23 is shaped somewhat like a key, with the “fat” end of the key being where Golden and part of Fairmount is, and narrowing as it goes through Applewood and North Lakewood

H.D. 23  is economically and politically diverse.  Its residents are from different ethnic backgrounds, but primarily are Caucasian and Latino.  We live in either homes or apartments, townhomes or condominiums.  Some of us are wealthy and others of us are poor, but most of us are the working class or middle class.

Politically, we are about 35% Republican, about 33% Independent, and about 32% Democrat.

House District 23 has 25,695 households with an average household size of 2.20.  Our total population is 58,865.

We have 41,036 people over the age of 25 who live in House District 23, almost 21% of whom have a bachelor’s degree and over 11% of whom have a graduate degree.

74.5% of us drive alone to work; 11.6% of us carpool and 4.6% of us use public transportation.  3.4% of us walk and 4.7% of us work at home.

Such a diverse district is a real joy to represent!
