Hi, folks –

Thanks for visiting my website.  I hope that you will find it informative.

Voters in House District 23 tell me that their number one priority is the economy.  I feel their pain, because of this economic collapse and the total lack of accountability in our federal government.  Fortunately, Colorado has one of the strongest economies in the nation, and we have already begun phasing out $9000 of the personal property tax for small businesses.

I believe all personal property tax should be eliminated for small business.

I also believe we can make small businesses more competitive and healthier economically by addressing the expense of health care.  My proposal is to allow small businesses to form a pool whereby as many as want to join may do so, including business groups of one, and then negotiate for less expensive employer-based health insurance.  The insurance premium would be based upon their aggregate number of employees.  Of course, under 2007 legislation I co-sponsored, the state of one’s health is no longer a factor in health insurance.

People have identified health insurance availability and access as their third concern, and I believe this proposal of mine would cover the great majority of the 813,000 uninsured in Colorado.

The second concern identified was the price of gasoline.  While the price is finally coming down, it is a precarious situation for us to rely on oil supplies from the Middle East.  We have already begun developing alternative energy and need to continue to do so.  I have always cosponsored such measures and will continue to support them.

One thing I do not support at this time of recession is increasing fees or taxes on our citizens.  Many of my constituents simply cannot afford it.

I do support Amendment 59, which will allow the state to keep the revenues we bring in.  Most people never receive a very large rebate from TABOR and the benefits to the state are great – most importantly in the area of higher education and having a rainy day fund for recession years.

If you ever need to reach me, you can email me here or call me at my campaign phone, 720-365-5653.

I look forward to hearing from you!  It is a real honor to serve you.

      Sincerely,

      Gwyn Green
